International Faculty Mobility

UGA Faculty Mobility

UGA faculty mobility initiatives take place at the initiative of individual faculty, departments, schools, and colleges pursuant to institutional agreements. UGA faculty have taught summer courses to students at partner institutions and gone to various institutions funded through the Fulbright Scholar Program. Faculty mobility initiatives rely on departmental and college input, approval, and support for prolonged success. UGA is committed to excellence in teaching and research through robust international faculty mobility. For additional information regarding faculty mobility support see:

Visiting International Faculty, Researchers, and Scholars

In 2014-2015, UGA hosted over 800 international faculty and researchers. UGA regularly hosts faculty from foreign institutions to teach courses and internationalize the curriculum in Athens through programs like the Franklin International Scholars Program (FISP) and Franklin-Morris International Scholars Program. UGA also hosts Visiting Researchers and Scholars (VRS), defined as those visitors who are not UGA employees or enrolled students, but who are coming to UGA to participate in research or activities that require access to UGA facilities, systems, or services. VRS must have a faculty sponsor within their potential department who is willing and able to coordinate the details of the VRS' visit, including housing and transportation.
