Dr. Jon Rubin to visit UGA March 5-6, 2014

The Office of International Education and the Center for Teaching and Learning are co-sponsoring the UGA visit of Dr. Jon Rubin, Director of SUNY’s Center for Online International Learning (COIL) in March 5-6, 2014.  
Dr. Rubin is a national leader in the creative use of technology to develop course-based collaborations with faculty abroad which can provide powerful mechanisms for developing cross-cultural competencies without students leaving the campus (“internationalization at home”).

Description: This workshop and dialogue between Jon Rubin and participating UGA faculty focuses on the development of international collaborative courses or modules. Participating faculty will examine case studies and examples from different disciplines, learn about issues related to the faculty partnering processes, and discuss the need for sensitivity to other institutional practices and cultures when developing collaborative online courses.
