Types of Educational Programs Abroad
UGA offers faculty-led study abroad groups to dozens of countries, exchanges in which students enroll directly at a partner university abroad, and independent research and internship opportunities. Additionally, students may, with prior approval, attend many study abroad programs offered by other institutions and organizations and receive transfer credit towards their UGA degree.

Students going on UGA study abroad programs will register for their classes at UGA and will receive resident credit. They will not need to fill out any additional paperwork for the Office of International Education but instead should follow the application and registration procedures outlined by the individual study abroad program.
Students going on UGA exchange programs or programs offered by other organizations and universities (including the UNO Innsbruck Program in Austria and the Consortium International University in Italy) will need to fill out a Credit Approval Form before departure. More information on transferring credit may be found here.
